The Eric Firestone Gallery in the East Hamptons is currently hosting “Down By Law,” an exhibition commemorating the earlybeginnings of NYC’s graffiti and street art scene. It’s ironic that the exhibit is being showcased in such a, how shall we say, “farfromdown” locale, but maybe that’s where the appeal lies. Thanks to the gallery, Hamptons locals will be able to stop in and check out some real rad, gritty images from New York City’s trueschool pioneers. The exhibit will be up until September 26, 2010.
Congrats to our boy Manny Perez for taking the road less traveled and finally seeing another one of his scripts through to the big screen.
Over the past two years, we’ve read several versions of the script, seen several rough cuts, screened it at Toronto International Film Festival with each version a drastic improvement over the previous.
We feel that this movie will be well worth your $10$15 bucks (depending on where you live). Support independent film by checking out La Soga this weekend. Here’s a list of theaters/showtimes.
