TOP 2 IPHONE 6 CONCEPTS IN THE WORLD
With an Apple iPhone 5S drop weeks away, we recently scoured the web in search of iPhone concepts that didn’t go completely off the reservation from a product and interface design standpoint. Our only other criteria was that the concept had to be well thought out and well executed. We wanted to feel like come 2014, this is the phone that we could potentially get.
After an exhaustive Google search, it came down to two finalist: Maui’s Johhny Plaid for his “Edgy” iPhone 6 concept and UK based Fabio Basile for his “Infinity” concept which was inspired by NYC’s Claudio Guglieri.
Drumroll please…and the winner is? Johnny Plaid!
Although we really like Fabio’s concept, it didn’t feel as real or as thoroughly executed and thought out as Johnny’s presentation.
As sexy and design forward as it is, a) we’re not 100% sold that what Fabio designed is technically feasible and b) historically speaking, the jump from the current iPhone 5 to his 6 would be too big of a leap for Apple in our opinion.
We recently got to play with a beta version of iOS 7 and I have to say, as it stands today, Johnny’s look and feel, although static, is a notch above what we saw from an icon design pov. It would make a great evolution from iOS 6 while staying true to the Apple brand.
Job well done gents, keep the pushing that design envelope! Oh and Jonathan Ive, if you come across this post on our little site, please hire JP, as he’s obviously talented and has clearly thought through what the iPhone 6 should be!
Below is a gallery of both phone’s. You be the judge.
