NANO-LIT TREES

NANO-LIT TREES

Thanks to a recent discovery by Dr. Yen-Hsun Su from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, we could have a strange, but eco-friendly alternative to street lights. The fascinating technique causes Bacopa caroliniana trees to emit red "light" produced from the plant's chlorophyll when combined with gold-particle nanotechnology. Thus, what appears–at first glance–to be a derivative of creative lighting design, might actually be the future of lit city streets and roads!
