ACTOR MANNY PEREZ TO RECEIVE THE HUMANITARIAN AWARD AT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Actor Manny Perez will be honored at the 3rd Annual Dominican Republic International Film Festival Saturday, November 10 th at 8pm, for his humanitarian work in the States and throughout the world. Actor Manny Perez will provide 10,000 pairs of newly recycled Crocs shoes to children in need of footwear in the Dominican Republic on behalf of Crocs Soles United, JetBlue Airways and The Elliott Foundation. "I am proud to be a part of this wonderful project and to work with The Elliott Foundation, JetBlue Airways and Crocs, Inc. to make a change in the lives of children and families in the Dominican Republic," said Manny Perez.
Manny Perez is a native Dominican born in a suburb of Santiago. "I have never forgotten my Dominican heritage. I know exactly how all those young children feel, I was one of them, in matter of fact I am one of them. I didn’t receive my first pair of shoes til I was 5 years old and I would never forget the name of the brand Zapatos Nachos. Now because of the tragedy in my country due to Tropical Storm Noel this is a must and a necessity" said Perez.
Recently receiving the Perry Ellis Humanitarian Award in New York City for his relentlessness work in donating over 1,000 pairs of shoes and backpacks to 500 South Bronx children in need along with Soles4 Souls.Org. and the World Vision Organization.
