THE REPÚBLICA WAR REPORT | THE COMING CONFLICT WITH IRAN
By Led Black
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here it goes anyway. There is the distinct possibility that one day in the very near future you might wake up to find out that the United States has begun another preemptive war in the Middle East but this time with the Islamic Republic of Iran. That President Bush and the raving mad and avaricious psychopaths that do his thinking for him have decided to double down on their foolhardy and dangerous gamble and bet the farm on their dreams (nightmares for others) of redrawing the map of the region by attacking Iran and widening the war. They are dead set on furthering their desires for global dominance and will stop at nothing to achieve that goal.
If this catastrophic turn of events comes to pass there is one thing you will need to understand, an attack on Iran will really change your life for the worse. Unlike the current Iraq war that mostly affects soldiers and their families, any conflict with Iran, big or small, will cause a lot of pain to the average American citizen. The price of oil will go through the roof and terrorism will become a real and ever present danger for Americans at home and abroad. Not to mention that the Army has been almost broken by this current Iraq conflict and one of the only ways to meet the lack of manpower for a new confrontation might be to reinstitute the draft. While Iran cannot defeat the United States, they can certainly inflict extensive damage on Americans interests worldwide. Consider that the Strait of Hormuz, which is the narrow waterway through which approx. 40 percent of the world’s energy passes, is controlled on one side by Iran. The deputy head of Iran’s Basij volunteer militia, Commander Majid Mirahmadi, succinctly summed up the Iranian position by stating recently “Iran’s message is security for everyone or no one." That is no empty threat.
Dictionary.com defines "déjà vu" as the experience of thinking that a new situation had occurred before. That is a textbook definition of what is happening right now as the Bush Administration and its minions once again lay the groundwork for another war with a resource rich Middle Eastern country. This time around, Prime Minister Tony Blair and the UK have been replaced as junior partners in yet another war of choice with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The drums of war are beating louder everyday and pretty soon they will once again engulf the world in its flames. If a conflict does take place, the Democratic Party’s hope of capturing the White House will go up in smoke and either lunatic Ghouliani or Reagan wannabe Thompson will be President. British military historian Corelli Barnett broke it down with these words of wisdom, "an attack on Iran would effectively launch World War III." Be afraid … be very afraid. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
