September 11th 2007 is shaping up to be a very big day for the ailing music industry due to both Kanye West and 50 Cent dropping albums that day.  50 Cent, always on the lookout for some controversy to stir up sales, has been all over the airwaves talking about how he is going to convincingly out sell Kanye and that the only way Kanye can come close is if Def Jam buys some of the albums themselves.  Me, I’m not so sure.  Granted 50 Cent’s last 2 albums, Get Rich or Die Trying and The Massacre, sold 12 and 11 million albums worldwide respectively but the 50 Cent brand is no longer what it once was.  On the other hand, Kanye West has garnered a level of critical acceptance that 50 Cent can never claim.  In fact, Kanye album, Graduation, is beating 50 Cent’s Curtis at pre-sales on iTunes.  While I like both of 50 cent’s latest singles, I Get Money and the ridiculously infectious Ayo Technology featuring Justin Timberlake, I’m hoping Kanye beats him soundly.  Time will tell.  Who are you rooting for?

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. As candy ass as Kanye may be, he’s one of the few artists I hate personally. He’s a little too full of himself. Yet, you know what I hate even more? The fact that I can’t hate the tightness of his production work! This Chi-town native, can’t be fucked with!!! This guys is Mr. Attention To Detail. Not that Mr. Curtis isn’t…you just can’t fuck with a cross over hip hop/style icon/pop-star with skills and style.

Curtis, well, he’s just a talented hip-hop star with a little bit of cross over appeal.

Here’s to two talented brother’s really gettin’ it…yet my nod goes to K-money…

Sorry boys…Kanye has this in the bag!.. Kanye has natural artistic staying power..50 is only as good as his last beef or product endorsement…50 is a jingle maker, Kanye has classix under his belt…so as far as 9.11, i think those are the digits that 50 will be pressing on his cell when Kanye’s album drops…
