POLITICS AS USUAL | McCAIN’S MYSPACE PAGE HACKED

By Led Black

Mccain Damn, you know everybody has a Myspace page when 70-year-old Republican Presidential hopeful Senator John McCain of Arizona has one.  Apparently, the staffer who created the page used a popular template designed by Newsvine founder and CEO Mike Davidson without proper accreditation.  To make matters worse they used images that are on his server, which means that he incurs bandwidth charges from people viewing McCain’s page.  Mr. Davidson struck back by replacing one of the images on the template with a statement that read:

"Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay marriage…particularly marriage between two passionate females."

While the Myspace faux pas is somewhat funny, Senator McCain’s seriously skewed views on Iraq and his support of this immoral and illegal war of choice are troubling to say the least.  Senator John McCain used to be known as the "Straight Talk Express" but he starting to sound more and more like the “Bullshit Local”.  Earlier this week, he told Right-wing radio host Bill Bennett that there “are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods, today.”  This is an outright fabrication according to CNN reporter Michael Ware, who has been in Iraq since the war began four years ago, saying that McCain is “way off base” with his assertion.  He stated, “To suggest that there’s any neighborhood in this city where an American can walk freely is beyond ludicrous. I’d love Sen. McCain to tell me where that neighborhood is and he and I can go for a stroll.”  Like I said in an earlier column, if this guy wins the Oval Office then it might be time to move to Canada.

IF YOU SHOP AT TJ MAXX, TK MAXX, MARSHALLS, HOMEGOODS, BOB'S STORE'S, OR HOMESENSE, KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS

Tjx_ap Hackers have stolen information from at least 45.7 million credit and debit cards used by customers of US discount retailer and TJ Maxx. Stores in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland and Puerto Rico are affected.

In a statement to US watchdogs the firm said it did not know the full extent of the theft and its effect on customers.

TJX added that the security breach may also have involved TK Maxx customers in the UK and Ireland.

But the company did add that at least three-quarters of the affected cards had expired or data had been masked.

The company also told the BBC that 100 files were moved from its UK computer system in 2003, and two files were later stolen.

ARE LATINOS PAYING MORE FOR WINDOWS VISTA?

Vista From a Vista customer:
"While investigating how to change the default language of Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows Vista, it became quickly apparent that Hispanics pay more. Six calls to various Microsoft support personnel confirmed that it is impossible for any version of Vista, except Business and Ultimate, to toggle the interface from English to Spanish. Business and Ultimate are the more expensive versions of Vista. While not Hispanic, it struck me as unreasonable and something that needed correction."

If that is the case, it is in fact something that Windows should work on pretty quick. Yes, most of Hispanics, especially second and third generations do not really need the interface in Spanish. But there is a lot of people that would prefer to still work in Spanish. And we can't help but think that people buying Vista in Latin America also may need to change to English. But according to the community group that we could find in Windows, when someone asked "Is there a way I can convert Vista Spanish edition to English? " the reply posted reads: "No. If you need Windows Vista in English, you'll need to purchase an English version of Windows Vista."

Considering Windows' efforts to promote their new operating system, this issue does not seem as a good idea.

If you have more information about this, please login and post your comment. More information will be helpful for small business deciding on their software!

POLITICS AS USUAL | SOUTH PARK TAKES ON HILLARY

By Led Black

Hillary_so_pk Fresh on the heels of the remixed "Think Different" YouTube clip that depicts Hillary Clinton as Big Sister upholding and maintaining the status quo comes this; the March 28th installment of “South Park” will revolve around Hillary Clinton coming to town for a campaign rally.  In the episode entitled "The Snuke", Cartman suspects a new Muslim student of planning a terrorist attack on the Senator.  The Hillary campaign folks will probably be up in arms over the shows depiction of their candidate because Matt Stone, one of the creators of “South Park”, once had this to say regarding his political persuasion, "I hate conservatives, but I really hate liberals.”  In other related Hillary news, half of voting-age Americans say they would not vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton if she became the Democratic nominee for president in 2008 according to a Harris Interactive poll released Tuesday.  Ouch!!!  The plot thickens.
