SWARM OF ANGELS: A NEW COLLABORATIVE WAY OF MAKING FILMS
A Swarm of Angels is a new collaborative approach to film making. The idea here is to cross pollinate the art of film making with the collaborative-ness of open source software coding. The project is in the midst of gathering 50,000 people to be part of this new media experiment in which an exclusive community of collaborators (you can be part of it for £25) fund and help make this film. They want people to freely download, share and remix the feature film and all original media made for this project and have embraced the flexible digital-age copyright of Creative Commons toward this end.
There are currently two scripts are being slated for production. Members of the Swarm will help develop these projects and get to green-light which one moves into production through a communal vote.
A disaffected Musician receives a phone call from his Mother, who everyone believed died five years ago, triggering a search to rescue her inside ‘The Fold’. He sets off on a journey where he must confront family secrets, a shadowy organisation, Cell Division, and a strange dimensional force that threatens to destroy the world.
A videogame artist recreates his childhood love as an idoru. A voyeuristic cable installer meddles in his customers lives. A neglected housewife finds evidence of an affair on a lost phone. In a world of the wireless, the powerless, and the loveless, it is time they all made a connection.
